LOOPFANG — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026 · Applies to the LOOPFANG game and its demo on Steam.

The short version. LOOPFANG sends anonymous gameplay statistics to one analytics provider. It never sends your name, your email, or your Steam ID. It does not show ads and it does not sell data.

1. Who is responsible

monkyduckstudio - MnD ("we", "us") develops and publishes LOOPFANG. We decide what the game collects and why, so we are the data controller for that collection.

Contact: hi@monkyduckstudio.com

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the LOOPFANG game and the LOOPFANG demo, on Steam. It does not cover Steam itself. Valve runs Steam, and Valve decides what Steam collects. See the Steam Privacy Policy.

3. What the game sends

The game sends the following to GameAnalytics, and nothing else:

DataWhat it is
Random player ID A random identifier that the game creates on your computer the first time it runs. The game stores it in a local file. It is not derived from your account, your name, or your hardware. If you delete that file, the game creates a new one and the old data can no longer be linked to you.
Session ID and session countWhich play session an event belongs to.
Game build numberThe version you are playing, such as 0.0.2296.
Gameplay statistics Per run: which snake you chose, the game mode, how long the run lasted, your level, how many segments you had, how many fusions and Ouroboros loops you made, how long the boss fight lasted, how much damage you dealt to the boss, and what ended the run.

Approximate country

The game does not send your location. GameAnalytics receives your IP address when your computer connects to their servers, as any internet server does, and derives an approximate country from it. They describe this in their own notice, linked in section 5.

4. What the game never sends

The game shows no advertising. We do not sell or rent data. We do not build profiles across other games or websites.

5. Who else receives data

GameAnalytics

We use GameAnalytics to understand how people play, so that we can balance the game. GameAnalytics states that it is a data controller for the data it processes. Its own notice explains what it does with that data, how long it keeps it, and how to contact it:

Valve (Steam)

If you play through Steam, the game uses Steam features: achievements, leaderboards, rich presence, cloud saves, and the screenshot library. Valve processes that data under its own privacy policy. A leaderboard entry includes your score and details of the run, and Steam shows it next to your public Steam profile name.

6. Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We collect gameplay statistics for one purpose: to see how the game behaves in real hands, and to balance it. Under the GDPR our legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)). The data is anonymous to us, the volume is small, and it improves a product you chose to run.

7. How long it is kept

GameAnalytics keeps the data under its own retention policy, linked in section 5. On your own computer, the game keeps a small queue file and the random player ID until you delete them.

8. Your choices

The game asks you the first time you open it, and nothing is sent until you answer. A panel explains what we collect and gives you two buttons. Closing that panel is not possible: it goes away when you choose, and only then. If you never answer, nothing leaves your computer.

You can change your answer at any time in Options → Analytics. Turning it off stops the sending immediately; you do not have to restart the game. The queue file on your own computer keeps being written either way, so turning it back on does not lose the run you are playing.

These routes also work, and they always did:

9. Your rights

We are established in Uruguay, so Uruguayan data protection law applies to us: Ley 18.331 on the Protection of Personal Data. Under that law you can access, correct, update, and delete your data, and you can complain to the Unidad Reguladora y de Control de Datos Personales (URCDP).

If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. If you live in California, you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for asking.

To exercise a right, write to hi@monkyduckstudio.com. Please include your random player ID, from %APPDATA%\LOOPFANG\ga_user.txt. Without it we cannot find your data, because we hold nothing else that identifies you. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.

10. Children

LOOPFANG is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to hi@monkyduckstudio.com and we will remove it.

11. International transfers

GameAnalytics processes data outside your country. Its notice describes the safeguards it applies, including standard contractual clauses.

12. Security

The game sends its data over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We hold no account, no password, and no payment data, so there is none to lose.

13. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Steam page of the game.

No muestra publicidad y no vende datos.

1. Quién es responsable

monkyduckstudio - MnD ("nosotros") desarrolla y publica LOOPFANG.

No cubre a Steam. Valve opera Steam y Valve decide qué recolecta Steam. Ver la política de privacidad de Steam.

4. Qué NO manda nunca

El juego no muestra publicidad. No vendemos ni alquilamos datos. No armamos perfiles cruzando otros juegos o sitios.

5. Quién más recibe datos

GameAnalytics
